user experience
Skagit Valley College Library Web Site Re-design: Conducting a content audit was the first step to ensuring the content became current and usable to the target audience of students and faculty. Implementing user testing better defined the structure and information needed. Working within the restraints of the web platform and the ideal outcome was a lesson in finding the right balance. Future Funds: This project was done to have a better understanding of how the hierarchy of information needs to be ordered so that the user moves from understanding what the company is, to what it can do for them, and then to interact with its services. This makes the experience more user-centric by letting users know that their particular needs are understood and, through a seamless interactive process, how the company can help meet their needs. Helio: Designing the Helios infotainment system was a lesson in a better understanding of conceptual models in how something works versus how we think it should work. Gathering feedback to determine what does and does not work. Creating intuitive visual cues to what interaction will be or where it will take the user. Constructing a design system to ensure consistency and a cohesive pattern throughout the design. [Adobe XD]
UPSKILLET: To align the project goal and design process with the business objectives, I did a website audit, analyzed user research, and completed a user journey map. A new site map was created, and wireframes were designed for both desktop and mobile. A script and PowerPoint presentation were assembled to present the project details to the client.
